VALE — GARMENT DIVISION DO NOT TUMBLE DRY
Read before you wash anything
PRODUCT
CARE.

Vale pieces are not disposable. Made slow, with materials that respond to how you treat them. Some already look destroyed. That doesn't mean they are.

01 / GENERAL RULES
READ FIRST

Before Anything Else

Check the care label inside the garment. Every Vale piece carries specific instructions for that fabric and construction. When in doubt, do less. Cold water, no heat, no machine — the safest decision is almost always the most conservative one.

Never iron directly on a graphic. Never bleach. Never tumble dry on high. These are not suggestions.
02 / LEATHER & DISTRESSED LEATHER
HANDLE WITH CARE

The Unforgiving Material

Leather is the most unforgiving material Vale works with — and the most rewarding when treated properly. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat. UV exposure fades and dries it out over time.

If it gets wet, let it air dry naturally at room temperature — never a hairdryer, never a radiator. Once dry, apply a leather conditioner sparingly with a soft cloth.

For hand-painted or hand-distressed pieces, never clean the painted areas with solvent or cleaning product. Spot clean the lining only, with a lightly damp cloth. Store flat or on a wide, padded hanger — never folded long-term.

03 / GRAPHIC T-SHIRTS
INSIDE OUT, ALWAYS

Protect The Print

Turn the garment inside out before washing. Always. This protects the graphic from friction and direct heat contact.

Machine wash cold on a delicate cycle, or hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or twist — press the water out gently and lay flat to dry.

Never tumble dry a graphic tee. Heat degrades the print, shrinks the fabric, and shortens its life.
04 / HOODIES & SWEATSHIRTS
COLD & GENTLE

Preserve The Weight

Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, inside out. Use a mild detergent — nothing with bleach or optical brighteners. Lay flat to dry or hang loosely.

Vale hoodies are pre-washed but may shrink slightly with repeated high-heat washing. Cold water and air drying preserve both the size and the weight of the fabric.

05 / JACKETS & OUTERWEAR
SPOT CLEAN FIRST

Hang, Never Tumble

Denim and canvas jackets can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth for minor marks. For a full wash, turn inside out and machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry — never tumble dry outerwear.

For sherpa, fleece-lined, or quilted pieces, follow the care label precisely. Hand washing in cold water is always the safer choice. Do not dry clean unless the label specifically instructs it.

06 / PANTS & DENIM
WASH RARELY

Preserve The Fade

Turn inside out. Wash cold. Hang dry. For raw or selvedge denim — wash as infrequently as possible. Spot clean when you can.

When a full wash is necessary, hand wash in cold water, no spin cycle, hang dry away from direct sunlight. For non-denim trousers, use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric to avoid shine on dark materials.

07 / BELTS
WIPE, DON'T SOAK

Never Submerge

Wipe clean with a dry or very slightly damp cloth. Apply a small amount of leather conditioner occasionally to prevent cracking, especially at the buckle holes where stress concentrates.

Store flat or loosely coiled — never tightly rolled for long periods.

08 / STORAGE & REPAIRS
LONG-TERM

Built To Last

Store all Vale pieces in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Hang leather and outerwear on proper hangers — not wire. Fold graphic tees and knitwear flat to prevent stretching at the shoulders. For long-term storage, use breathable garment bags — avoid plastic, it traps moisture.

If something fails — a seam, a buckle, a zipper — contact us before you take it anywhere else. In many cases, repairs can be handled directly.
